Let’s Talk About Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)

This video was recorded from my Let’s Talk About Zoom Class Series. It provides an overview of EFT and how you can use it to relieve stress and improve your health.

Resources/Supporting Information

  • The Tapping Solution website is probably the largest and most comprehensive resource on the Emotional Freedom Technique. They also offer an app (The Tapping Solution App) that is free and available to download in the App Store.

  • I played this Tapping Demo in the video. It shows you how to tap using a script to address general stress and overwhelm.

A TIP REGARDING THE SCRIPT

It is easy to get hung up on what to say and you might feel as if the script has to be done a certain way for the technique to work. But trust me, your intuition will guide you.

My suggestion is to abandon following a specific script and simplify the process as follows:

  1. Start with a setup statement such as: “Even though (insert whatever problem or challenge you are facing), I choose to accept this feeling and I choose to love, honor and accept myself.” Say whatever feels good to you. The goal is to acknowledge your current state and accept your thoughts, your feelings and yourself - as is.

  2. Then as you tap through the meridian points, talk as if you were venting to a good friend about this particular issue. Say whatever is going on in your head. There is no right or wrong - just vent.

  3. Once you have noticed that you have unloaded and cleared away some of the intensity around the issue, start to layer in whatever positive statements you feel will build your confidence around this particular issue. Stop whenever you feel ready or have noticed a positive shift in your energy and emotion.
